Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • No experience required - new grads considered
  • Must have a valid unrestricted driver's license and safe driving record
  • Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools
  • Microsoft Office expertise
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate, up to 25%
  • Physical dexterity/mobility to travel via car, airplane and to perform all functions inherent to the position

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Working knowledge in electrical circuit design/analysis principles
  • Semiconductor experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian and other International product safety standards
  • Prior project management experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to U.S., Canadian, and other international product safety standards.
  • Writing reports and communicating with clients.
  • Conducting on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s) under the guidance of a senior engineer.
  • Reading and determining the applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
  • Validating the project scope and sample applicability.
  • Setting up and operating EUT; performing and documenting simple repairs on EUT as needed.
  • Performing testing of products in accordance with standards.
  • Completing preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on and off site.
  • Developing, setting up, and following established test plans.
  • Compiling test results during construction review and testing.
  • Compiling data and product description and typing final report using established report shell.
  • Submitting report to reviewer for final approval.
  • Communicating project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.
  • Providing on-going support to clients as needed.
  • Identifying, properly documenting, and recommending engineering judgments within policy guidelines.
  • Performing other work as required.
