About The Position

This position is intended for the submarine advanced electric technology group in Department E11. The incumbent will be responsible for working with a team of NNS, EB, and NNL engineers to develop advanced electric concepts in the areas of generators and motors. This position regularly communicates with internal management as well as internal and external engineers via email, phone, and in person meetings. Strong communication and presentation skills are required for presenting electrical concepts. Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Experience developing or maintaining generators and/or electric motors
Established modeling skills using MATLAB, Simulink, and other FEA software
