About The Position

This position is intended for the Generator group in the Propulsion and Reactor Engineering Planning Yard. The incumbent will be responsible for recommending and designing upgrades to existing control systems; applying electrical and electronic engineering principles to test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems in support of the U.S. Navy; and working with a group of technical individuals who analyze problems, research, design, and develop solutions to resolve problems associated with power generation equipment.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program

Nice To Haves

Commercial or Naval Experience with electrical generating equipment and related support/control systems is preferred.
Cybersecurity
Familiarity with the use of software (MATLAB, PLECS, Simcenter Amesim, etc.) to generate physics-based models of electrical circuits and control systems.
Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop and/or Controller-in-the-Loop test bed configuration, set-up, or use.
C+ and Assembly programming languages.
