About The Position

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer Die Checker to join our hourly engineering team. The Engineer Die Checker will perform skilled tasks utilizing Unigraphics to provide detailed Die designs for our die build and manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for using their knowledge to produce precision-based die designs to GM standards and specifications. This individual will also be expected to understand and communicate technical Tool & Die information effectively.

Requirements

  • Understanding of die design, die subsets and die functionalities.
  • Understanding of material properties and formability analysis parameters such as stresses, strains, and thinning
  • Experience in Die Layout of draw, trim, flange, and pierce dies for inner and outer panels
  • Proficient in UGNX surface creation and surface compensation, including class “A” surfaces.
  • At least six (6) years of related experience in a Engineer Die Checker trade or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in Engineer Die Checker.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily, weekend and holidays on those shifts with little notice

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine die design concepts using UG 3d CAD software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with project requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with senior designers to refine designs and ensure adherence to project specifications and GM standards
  • Participate in design review meetings and perform necessary changes based upon feedback.
  • Make basic use of Microsoft Office programs to communicate design information.
  • Maintain organized records throughout the design process
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve design issues that arise during production
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn from feedback
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
