About The Position
Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking an Engineer Co-op. The Design Engineering Technician will be responsible for assisting the Design Engineering Team with improvements to existing products and new product designs.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering major.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Willingness to participate or lead a multi-functional team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skillsets as needed.
- Have an on-the-floor presence at all Richmond manufacturing facilities.
- Working knowledge of basic computer systems including but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Must have excellent verbal and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently conducting analysis for root cause identification and understanding how to identify problems and reach resolutions is beneficial.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with full product design lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of CAD software.
Responsibilities
- Work with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to ensure successful completion of design drawings and design drawing updates.
- Assist Design Engineering Team with the development of process and product improvement ideas based on feedback from customers, suppliers, and production teams.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) process.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on implementation of product improvements.
- Investigate transformer test issues and provide root cause analysis documentation to facilitate resolution discussions.
