About The Position

Related Ross is seeking an Operating Engineer to support their class A commercial office assets. The Engineer, under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, performs mechanical tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of building operational units. In addition, the Engineer performs maintenance and repair work on plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment. The Engineer is responsible for the following: Operation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment and other equipment incidental to the operation of the building. Other related duties and special projects, as required. Stands watch in the chiller plant and verifies that all work scheduled for shifts is completed satisfactorily. The tasks of the Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists in the preparation and review of projects. Provides engineering and technical assistance. Conducts building checks. Cleans electrical appliances and equipment; traces short circuits; replaces fixtures and checks switches and fuse boxes. Reports non-compliance with drawings and specifications to the Assistant Chief Engineer. Evaluates technical requirements. Supervises mechanics and helpers; collaborates with contractors. Mains accurate records and files. Conducts periodic inspections of designated building facilities and equipment. Repairs and performs preventive maintenance on general building facilities and electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration and communication systems. Responds promptly to fire alarm systems. Disengages electrical, water and/or gas systems. Advises management of general condition of facilities and equipment. Reports unusual problems or concerns. Mains the appropriate documentation of maintenance and repair records to ensure compliance with applicable regulation codes. Other related duties, as required.

Requirements

  • Stable employment record with 3-5+ years experience in the field.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge and understanding of building systems including, but not limited to: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, BMS, Fire & Life Safety and all related systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blue prints and specifications.
  • Working knowledge and the ability to utilize desktop computers with software packages such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Project.
