About The Position

At the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), we plan, build, maintain, and protect the transportation systems that connect communities, support commerce, and keep Louisiana moving. The Engineer 7 – Pavement Preservation/Program Engineer position is responsible for the district level leadership and accountability for the delivery of the highway construction and preservation programs. This position is in District 07 and reports to the ADA of Engineers. Requirements

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering
Three years of licensed engineering experience; or Seven years of professional engineering experience.
Must have a current Louisiana Professional Engineering License.

Responsibilities

Manager all aspects of the program including scope, budget, delivery schedule, and overall performance.
Oversees the preparation of construction plans for pavement preservation, contract maintenance, safety and other related projects at the District level.
Provides oversight and coordinator for dam safety inspections, hydraulic studies, drainage, flood control, surveying, and storm water co-permittee activities.
Coordinates permitting requirements, mitigation needs, and external agency commitments to support timely project delivery.
Ensure appropriate quality assurance and quality control processes are applied to both in-house and consultant-produced design deliverable prior to advertisement.
