About The Position

Performs a variety of duties necessary for the ongoing operation of the supplier surveillance process. Will require collaboration and coordination with customers and other internal functions, including engineering, supply chain procurement, quality assurance, and manufacturing trades. This oversight will include interfacing with suppliers in order to: oversee/review/monitor manufacturing processes at supplier facilities; audit the supplier's quality management system and technical capabilities; perform related studies to help insure that engineering and procurement specifications are met; initiate/validate supplier corrective/preventive actions to drive resolution of problems discovered during supplier assessments; and help train/develop suppliers. Candidate may also investigate or coordinate the investigation and resolution of material-related non-conformances, and interface with internal Procurement and Engineering functions to facilitate the development and communication of part ordering requirements. This benchmark is intended to be used by companies that have generic classifications engaged in research and/or product development encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering disciplines: electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 5 years of relevant exempt experience with a Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
  • 0 years of experience with a Ph.D.
