About The Position

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Des Moines, IA. In this role will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools

Requirements

• Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
• Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
• Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
• Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
• Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
• Minimal level of work shop experience required
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
• PREVIOUS ENGINE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
• EXPANDED KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED, BRAKES, CHASSIS, AC SYSTEMS, TRANSMISSIONS
• WILL WORK WITH ON ROAD AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Locally valid driving permit
