About The Position

The Engine Test Supervisor / Line Engineer position is responsible for driving, maintaining and improving overall production performance in Engine Assembly operations (TT/ODA). Central to this position is effectiveness leading production teams towards excellence both in their behaviors and results with a key focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People (Morale) and Environmental metrics. Additionally, this position closely collaborates and partners with quality, maintenance, line scheduling, and logistics functions with a main focus on customer requirements. This position is currently designated to 3rd Shift -Production Test, but also carries responsibility to work and function as a line engineer for the 3rd shift HDEP Assembly area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management or related field and 5-7 years of related experience or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Familiarity with DDC Production Process
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to promote a positive working culture and environments

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience
  • TOS Qualification: Lean Specialist, Expert or Lean Consultant

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to meet KPI objectives set by management.
  • Keeps management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems.
  • Monitors and reports on SQDCM during daily shop floor huddle meetings.
  • Responsible for leading hourly UAW team members for production test department.
  • Foster a teamwork environment and work closely with other departmental support groups.
  • React quickly to developing production issues while keeping the overall best interest of the Company in perspective.
  • Performs special projects as needed.
  • Works with maintenance to problem solve downtime issues.
  • Line engineer responsibility for engine assembly on midnight shift.
  • Provide tooling support and line support to assist in assembly uptime.
  • React to daily calls from HDEP engine assembly and problem solve line down issues.
