About The Position

Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects in the group responsible for designing the test equipment used to test Jet engines and their subsystems. We’re looking for students with an engineer’s curiosity, an explorer’s heart, and a perfectionist’s grit to help us build the future of aerospace. Whether supporting Mature Commercial Engines, industry-leading Geared Turbofan engines, Military Engine programs, Operations, or Business Support functions, our program seeks to help you: develop an understanding of the aerospace industry; learn about our company and its operations; and appreciate how each discipline and department’s contribution to the success of our products and customer partnerships. Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming experience in Python, R, or similar languages.
  • Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.
  • Knowledge of aircraft engine systems and validation processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain predictive models to forecast risk factors in support of engine validation planning.
  • Apply statistical models to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in engine validation datasets to extract actionable insights.
  • Design and implement data visualization dashboards and reports to communicate findings effectively.
  • Develop and publish new knowledge assets within EKS (ESW, K-Packs, GB, training, etc.)
  • Communicate results and insights to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
