About The Position

The Engine Mechanic is responsible for providing hands‑on support in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with power system equipment to ensure reliable operation. This is available as a 2-week-on/2-week-off rotational role. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an engine or power systems mechanic
  • Hands‑on experience with Caterpillar 3512 engines, Detroit engines, small engines, and bi‑fuel systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, including the ability to resolve complex mechanical and hydraulic issues
  • Resourceful, self‑motivated professional with strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, planning, and organizational skills
  • Positive, team‑oriented communicator able to work independently with minimal supervision; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • diesel vocational training and additional certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Commission, inspect, and maintain engine and power systems equipment
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, rebuild, and test engine components to resolve power system issues
  • Read and assemble equipment using technical prints, schematics, and power system drawings
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs while collaborating and cross‑training with partner departments
  • Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rotation and travel to field locations as required
