About The Position

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Kamloops, BC). This role operates on a 7‑on/7‑off rotation with 12‑hour shifts. The primary schedule will be day shift, though occasional night shifts may be required. The main branch location is Kamloops, reporting to the Remote West Mining Group from Hinton. In this role, you will support our customers across multiple locations within our operating area, with the potential to assist at our sister operations when needed. You will work at various mineral mine sites, performing diagnostics and repairs on both Cummins and non‑Cummins engines and equipment.

Requirements

• Journeyperson with red seal
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
• 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations and must meet the conditions of the company policy
• Apprenticeship documentation and certification will be required prior to hire

Nice To Haves

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Locally valid driving permit

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools
• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs engine overhauls unassisted
