Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience with Calibrating fuel, air, spark, and valve timing strategies to control engine operations and reduce emissions.
  • 5 years of experience evaluating engine operating modes including cold start, warmup, tip-in, acceleration, altitude variation to process impacts on emissions and OBD system performance.
  • 5 years of experience gathering and analyzing emission and OBD data to calibrate the OBD monitors so they are capable of detecting failed systems while minimizing false positives.
  • 5 years of experience utilizing ATI for calibration development and experience using ATI.
  • 5 years of experience using ATI, VDR, PT Diag, and Fault insertion tools to calibrate and DV the OBD system.
  • 5 years of experience using lab facilities to measure emissions.
  • 5 years of experience creating workplans to meet program timing, escalating issues affecting deliverables, and developing conformance plans to meet program milestone objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a control feature (injection timing/air/fuel/spark, emissions, OBD) development.
  • Complete feature sign off in line with company procedures.
  • Operate as liaison with lead calibration engineer and technical specialists.
  • Develop detailed project plans that embrace all elements of the feature development.
  • Execute sub-system optimization in either a vehicle or dynamometer environment.
  • Manage the project to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved.
  • Manage the definition, communication, and resolution of issues with internal stakeholders.
  • Vehicle homologation development and sign off through use of emissions lab, powertrain cells, and remote sites (Denver, Raco, Eglin, Beckly).
