About The Position

The Engine Builder is responsible for engine rebuilding including teardown, cleaning, inspection measuring and sub-assembly, quality control and final fitting. They also clean, inspect, and analyze the condition of engine components and parts to assist in determining suitability for future use.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required.
2 to 5 years of engine experience is required.
Solid knowledge and understanding of basic mechanic tools.
Demonstrated experience with rebuilding engines and components.
Ability to take precise and consistent measurements using a variety of measuring devices.
Time management and organizational skills.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Read and follow complex directions in manuals and relay information in reports.
Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to work legally in the US.
Pass a drug screening.
Clean motor vehicle record

Responsibilities

Teardown, clean, inspect, measure, repair, and rebuild Moser generator engines.
Analyze and trouble shoot engine and performance problems.
Generate various technical and summary reports.
Measure and record bearing clearances, compression ratios, camshaft centerlines, etc.
Document engine build/parts problems and recommended countermeasures.
Responsible for shop maintenance, keeping the washroom and grinding room clean.
Maintain engine carts and dollies and document tool / consumable inventory.
Sort, separate and dispose of stock parts, chassis, and show and business group projects.
Perform various tedious tasks, hone valve guides, grind, and polish valve faces, etc.
Check-in and disassemble engines.
Clean and inspect engine components and parts.
Analyze and evaluate the condition of component parts to assess suitability for future use.
