About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Engine and Parts Inspector for the 2nd Shift. This role involves performing inspections on production turbine airfoils and other equipment to ensure quality and adherence to standards. Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 2 years of aircraft trades training or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years of work experience in aircraft engine construction, operation and related inspection methods.

In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
2 years of aircraft trades training or equivalent experience and 2 years of work experience in aircraft engine construction, operation and related inspection methods.

Responsibilities

Perform basic dimensional and visual inspection of production turbine airfoils and other equipment using specified methods and techniques.
Accept or reject material based on findings.
Transport parts, raw material and fixtures.
Plan and perform dimensional, visual, and water and airflow inspections on turbine airfoils using established written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instructions.
Utilize standard measuring techniques and inspection equipment to verify accuracy of parts and accept or reject based on findings.
Perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions, ensuring operation sheets are followed.
Recognize the need for and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work.
Complete logs, quality assurance forms, and other records as necessary.
Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions, such as inspector’s check list for upkeep.
