About The Position

The Engagement Specialist is responsible for building relationships with senior members to increase participation, connection, and overall engagement in YMCA programs. This role focuses on outreach, member support, and creating a positive experience that encourages consistent program usage and community connection.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience in customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and data tracking systems required.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with senior adults.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with senior members through weekly outreach to support engagement and retention.
  • Conduct consistent outreach to current and prospective members to promote programs and services.
  • Welcome, orient, and connect new senior members to appropriate programs and resources.
  • Encourage participation through follow-up and ongoing support.
  • Accurately track member interactions, outreach efforts, participation activity, and report timely.
  • Monitor attendance and identify opportunities to improve engagement.
  • Collaborate with membership and program staff to support growth and retention strategies.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on member needs and trends.
  • Support a welcoming and inclusive environment aligned with YMCA values.
