Engagement Manager

CertaWilmington, DE
Remote

About The Position

The Engagement Manager is the primary delivery lead on Certa implementations, owning the project lifecycle from kick-off through handover. You work in tandem with the Solution Architect - you own delivery structure and client governance, the SA owns solution design and configuration - spotting risks before they escalate and keeping each engagement on time, in scope, and to Certa's standards. This is a high-impact, client-facing role for an experienced project or engagement manager with a consultancy mindset, deep TPRM or enterprise SaaS delivery experience, and the commercial awareness to protect scope while building strong client relationships. You'll thrive in the pace and ambiguity of a high-growth SaaS environment and help shape and scale best practices across EMEA Professional Services.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in project management, engagement management, or delivery leadership within enterprise SaaS, management consultancy, or professional services.
  • Background in TPRM, vendor management, procurement, GRC, or a related domain, with understanding of the enterprise vendor lifecycle (onboarding, due diligence, risk assessment, contract management, off-boarding); familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or DORA a plus.
  • Proven full-cycle SaaS implementations at complex enterprise clients (kick-off to handover), across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies on concurrent engagements.
  • Able to identify scope creep, enforce change control, and articulate the commercial implications of delivery decisions; consultancy background preferred, operating as a trusted advisor; experience shaping delivery standards or tooling.
  • Enough Certa product knowledge to understand how workflows, configuration, and integrations fit together and to challenge solution design with the SA to spot delivery risk; working knowledge of the TPRM/procurement landscape (Coupa, Ariba, ServiceNow, Archer, OneTrust, or comparable) advantageous; proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalents.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous, high-growth environments; proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple concurrent engagements; a direct, confident communicator who can have difficult conversations without damaging relationships; collaborative across SAs, CSMs, and leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • EMEA delivery experience with regional regulatory and cross-cultural nuance
  • Exposure to managed services or post-go-live support
  • PM certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Prior experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS company where the operating model was still being defined

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery end-to-end: Own the project plan across all phases - kick-off, discovery, design, UAT, go-live, and handover - holding the team accountable to milestones, and partner with the CSM for a clean handover with no open items.
  • Manage risk & scope: Proactively identify delivery risks and escalate with clear remediation plans, and manage scope rigorously - enforcing change control and pushing back on out-of-scope requests firmly and professionally.
  • Run governance: Run structured, action-oriented project governance (status updates, RAID logs, decision trackers, clear stakeholder comms), working in close tandem with the Solution Architect on a respected division of responsibility.
  • Lead client relationships: Serve as the primary contact for client stakeholders at operational and senior levels, setting expectations early and transparently on scope, feasibility, and trade-offs so clients are never surprised.
  • Drive satisfaction: Run effective status meetings with clear agendas and named owners, manage client satisfaction proactively, and exercise sound judgment on when to resolve independently versus escalate to the Delivery Director.
  • Improve the practice: Contribute to PM templates, playbooks, and engagement frameworks across EMEA PS, share lessons learned and support less experienced consultants, flag resourcing constraints early, and partner with the Delivery Director on process improvements.
