About The Position

Perelman Jewish Day School seeks a dynamic, organized and mission-driven team player to join our community as the Engagement & Communications Manager. The Engagement & Communications Manager supports and enhances the school’s advancement, communications and community engagement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement, this professional helps strengthen relationships with families, donors, and community stakeholders through the coordination of fundraising programs, schoolwide events, and grandparent and parent engagement initiatives. Additionally the Engagement & Communications Manager supports the school’s communication and marketing efforts under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications. The Engagement & Communications Manager oversees annual schoolwide events, engages parents and grandparents, and serves as a liaison with the PTO. The Engagement & Communications Manager supports all aspects of communication and marketing at the school through the creation and dissemination of information to appropriate stakeholders via email, digital, print, social media, and the website. In the fall of 2027–2028, Perelman Jewish Day School and Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy will unify to create a new independent PreK–12 Jewish community day school. The Engagement Manager will be a partner in supporting the school’s growth during this exciting period of transition. The ideal candidate for this role has experience with community engagement, communications, and is a team player. Successful candidates will work well independently and collaboratively, be a self-starter, possess strong organizational skills allowing them to oversee multiple concurrent projects, and have demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to multitask, liaise, and collaborate with various stakeholders (e.g. staff, faculty, administration, PTO) and demonstrate confidentiality and discretion
  • Meticulous attention to grammar and accuracy of all communications
  • Ability to maintain the professional visual appearance of all communications in alignment with brand standards
  • Initiative, sound judgment, and ability to respond calmly and resourcefully in an environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong willingness to learn and assist in a variety of capacities as needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Graphic design experience is preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations a plus
  • Familiarity with Jewish day schools, independent schools, and/or Jewish community a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Advancement, Enrollment, Academic, and Communications leadership teams on strategy, messaging, and implementation of engagement efforts, including events, programs, fundraising initiatives, and other special projects.
  • Oversee major annual schoolwide events and programs, including Generations Day, Back to School Night, and other community engagement initiatives, coordinating logistics such as registrations, communications, vendor management, and on-site event staffing and support
  • Support the PTO in planning programs and events that foster school community and engagement
  • Develop program(s) and implement strategies to engage the school’s grandparents
  • Support the Director of Marketing and Communications in drafting, editing, producing, and distributing regular school communications, including newsletters, emails, announcements, and marketing materials
  • Support management of the school's social media accounts
  • Manage and maintain the school’s website, with attention to functionality, accuracy
  • Maintain brand consistency across communications and event materials
  • Capture photos and videos in classrooms and at school events; curate, edit, and organize a comprehensive library of visual assets
  • Assist in the implementation and management of digital marketing campaigns, including initiatives supporting the launch and growth of the new school
  • Manage the communications calendar and scheduling of major schoolwide communications and advancement-related outreach
  • Ensure faculty and parent online resources remain current, accurate, and fully functional
