About The Position

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is offering internships for rising college juniors and seniors, as well as fellowships for graduate students. This program provides hands-on experience in nonprofit advocacy, community engagement, event planning, and leadership development. It is ideal for individuals passionate about social justice, civic engagement, and creating positive change. While in-person internships are encouraged, remote applicants from across the country can be accommodated. The internship focuses on relationship building, communications support, donor research, administrative tasks, professional development, and a Capitol Hill visit.

  • No previous professional experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and get involved.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Excel, and/or Google Sheets is preferred.
  • Two years of higher education or commensurate experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with NCJW leaders, advocates, and partners nationwide.
  • Help cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and assist in maintaining our growing network of supporters and volunteers.
  • Assist in writing and disseminating newsletters, weekly updates, and other field communications, as well as donor acknowledgement letters.
  • Conduct prospect research on current and potential donors and draft reports on those findings.
  • Track contacts with our network in EveryAction, NCJW’s CRM.
  • Provide essential administrative support for the department and day-to-day operations, such as preparing materials, coordinating meetings, and entering data into our CRM EveryAction.
  • Participate in regular training sessions, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative projects designed to enhance leadership, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Plan and execute a lobby day by meeting with congressional staff and/or members of Congress to discuss NCJW priority issues.
