Reporting to the Executive Director of Online Programs, the Engaged Online Course (EOC) Coordinator on team regularly interacts with faculty, academic units, and others in DL to promote high quality, evidence-based practices in online teaching, learning, and assessment at the University. The person in this position will help the university meet Chancellor Plowman's strategic goal of expanding educational opportunities beyond the Knoxville campus through the development and delivery of robust and engaging online programs and courses. The person in this role directly supports the development and quality of online degree programs through the management of the Engaged Online Course Initiative as well as the EOC Review, an internally developed peer review process that assesses quality in online course design using the EOC rubric. The EOC rubric standards, guidelines and accompanying criteria serve as the foundation for evaluating whether an online course qualifies for the EOC designation.
