About The Position

BAE Systems is looking for a motivated Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical/Software Engineer to join the Weapon System Assessment and Reference Models (WSARM) team for an exciting opportunity supporting the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system program. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a talented and highly skilled team that supports Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) with software modeling and simulation efforts, reference model updates and Integration with flight software. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the Minuteman III ICBM program with a team of subject matter experts. The advancement of technical skills and analysis capabilities are emphasized while producing high-quality products and effectively supporting the government customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field from an ABET accredited program or Computer Science.
  • 4 years of direct related experience.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining 6 Degree of Freedom software tools.
  • Engineer with analysis experience and software programming experience.
  • Background in structural, thermal, fluids, dynamics analyses.
  • Technical writing and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Matlab, C, C++, Python, Fortran, and/or Ada programming languages are desired.
  • NASTRAN experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with updating a highly complex 6 Degree of Freedom simulation software tool.
  • Maintain physics-based engineering models and perform statistical analyses.
  • Provide support for Reference Model evaluations and updates.
  • Provide support to evaluate vehicle performance.
  • Provide engineering support to investigate off-nominal vehicle performance through Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Perform Missile System, Missile Vehicle Body Dynamics, and performance analyses.
  • Support Non-Destructive evaluation of new hardware system level impacts.
  • Publish various briefing materials and reports.
