About The Position

The Space Vehicle Architect serves as the technical representative of the Space Vehicle Engineering team for an assigned mission area or as a supporting architect. The role interfaces with internal program offices, external customers, and partners to develop and present Spacecraft Bus and Space Vehicle solutions, and supports capture and business development activities across Civil Space, National Space, or Military Space mission areas. The architect contributes to mission and product-line architecture, identifies internal research and development needs, and maintains the Space Vehicle technical baseline. The position provides leadership to systems engineering staff and supports technical documents, design and readiness reviews, proposals, and the development of space systems through development, test, and delivery. It also includes coaching systems engineers and helping transition pursuits into program execution. This is an on-site position requiring in-person work three or more days during each normally scheduled week at the primary work location. The position may require travel and local commuting between company campuses and other locations. Work may take place in an office, laboratory, production floor, cleanroom, outdoors, or a remote research environment; occasional work in production areas may require protective equipment.
