About The Position

Ford Quality is responsible for driving the continuous improvement efforts that enable Ford to deliver the highest quality products and services. This role supports VRT with statistical process control and data analysis, participates in periodic job observations, and provides external and internal data checks for quality reviews. The position involves maintaining health chart schedules and assessments, reviewing quality leadership system charts for data accuracy, and performing subsystem checks. It also includes learning control plans, verifying data entry, assembling acceptance criteria visual aids, maintaining cycle line layout indicator mapping, and updating the Quality Confirmation Map. The role applies Quality principles and analytical techniques to improve manufacturing processes and products, analyzes root causes, and leads efforts in variability reduction, lean manufacturing, and resolving assembly-related concerns using tools like 8D and 6-panel for corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience utilizing six sigma tools including 5WHY or 8-D to solve manufacturing process issues.
  • 1 year of experience using Core tools including Control plan and PFMEA for proactive risk management and quality improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • 1 year of experience utilizing Ergonomic analysis tools including MODAPTS or 3-D printing to improve operator efficiency and optimize job utilization.
  • 1 year of experience using Error proofing tools including Sensors and Vision Systems to early detection and prevention of issues in Manufacturing process.
  • 1 year of experience applying DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology in improving Warranty, Ford internal FCPA audit score, Plant Roll throughput Yield and Plant First run capability.
  • 1 year of experience overseeing production organization and leading cross functional VRT teams by conducting VRT working level and report out meetings, leading PAC paper reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Support VRT with statistical process control and data analysis.
  • Participate with VRT team to conduct a periodic job observation.
  • Update the status to completion of periodic job observation.
  • Provide external and internal data checks for quality reviews.
  • Maintain health chart schedule and assessments.
  • Maintain and review quality leadership system charts for data accuracy and work group binning.
  • Perform subsystem checks as required.
  • Learn control plan and verify data entry as required into web-based data management.
  • Assemble acceptance criteria visual aids for the VRT.
  • Maintain cycle line lay out indicator mapping with the assistance of the VRT.
  • Update and maintain the Quality Confirmation Map.
  • Apply Quality principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Analyze root causes, engage in mapping and corrective actions to reduce inventory.
  • Lead role in resolving assembly related concerns.
  • Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices.
  • Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool and 6 panel.
