About The Position

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution. Join the hardware development team to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Technical responsibilities include the mechanical design and requirement allocation, interface definition, performance analysis, and risk mitigation from concept through detail design of any of the following: Antenna and RF Electronic systems for various platforms. Conformal and high temperature airborne platforms. Phased array systems for ground, airborne, maritime and space environments. Ground Support Equipment Special Test Equipment Responsibilities will include CAD modeling and documentation, design analysis, and collaboration with other engineers, designers, and drafters. Provide inputs for detailed development schedules and team activities to meet hardware delivery milestones. Interact with other functional disciplines in an integrated program team (IPT) environment. Responsibilities may also include technical management of major subcontracts. Sustaining engineering of production products may be required. Future areas of development may include: Model Based Engineering Design for Additive Manufacturing Design for Manufacturing Design for Test Medium to high volume production Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Interest in the mechanical design of RF Electronic systems.
  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Ability to apply engineering principals to perform design trades and analyses.
  • Interest in learning to plan and execute engineering risk reduction testing as well as qualification testing.
  • Interest in learning to develop cost estimates, schedules and develop/report earned value.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret security clearance.
  • Applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (training will be provided).
  • Experience designing for RF related products.
