About The Position

Position Summary: Apply theory and principles of Roto Marine design engineering to meet specialized design and performance specification(s) under the direction of engineering staff. Essential Position Requirements (include but are not limited to): SAFETY FIRST – Every employee of Cellofoam North America Inc. must demonstrate a strong commitment to following all safety standards, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others. Design and develop rotationally molded products for customers. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the costing/pricing issues involved in these applications. Create engineered drawings using CAD for customer approval and tool shop (internal or external) specifications. Prepare prototype samples for internal testing and customer review to determine accuracy of design as well as tooling needs. Coordinate with customers and account managers to determine proper material, offer suggestions for design(s), etc. Follow up with customer(s) regarding deadlines, new designs, etc. Test packaging designs (drop, vibration, incline, compression, etc.) following ISTA and ASTM guidelines. Complete appropriate paperwork for the entire design process to keep tech center records up to date. May program and run cutter paths generated from CAD-CAM systems to produce prototypes. May prepare initial estimates for some designs and propose to account manager and/or sales director for approval. Complete appropriate office work, order materials, write letters, compile data, and keep project reports. Ship product and prototypes to account managers and/or customers. Maintain cleanliness of sample making area on a regular basis. Maintain a safe working environment and follow all safety best practices. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential. Keep Director informed at all times of potential issues and concerns. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve issues. Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others. Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding plant or employee concerns. Maintain a working knowledge and is in full compliance with corporate standards for business conduct and Federal anti-trust laws. Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Technical education and/or training in design or drafting
  • Minimum of two years of job-related experience. Education may be substituted for experience.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD and related software
