About The Position

The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage. With Sanjgon now operational and the Hagersville Battery Energy Storage Park scheduled for commissioning in the coming weeks, Boralex will reach 380 MW of installed storage capacity in Canada – making it the largest battery storage operator in the country. Additional storage projects are under development, including the Oxford project, which is expected to begin construction shortly.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines
Highly accurate and detail oriented
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Teamwork and ability to communicate are critical
Proficiency in English is required to analyze, negotiate, and manage contracts and communications with international partners and suppliers.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of energy markets and/or trading experience
Programming and data science skills

Responsibilities

Perform energy scheduling tasks including preparation of Day Ahead and Real Time schedules, submittal of bids & offers to ISO, validations, and maintenance of bids & offers throughout the operating day for energy, capacity and ancillary products while ensuring compliance with markets rules, contractual obligations, and unit capability
Develop and implement physical revenue optimization strategies, including Day Ahead/Real Time, Ancillary products and production schedules optimization
Participate in financial transactions strategies and execution, including Futures, Swaps and Financial Transmission Rights and equivalent products in different ISOs
Maintain compliance with the organization’s Risk Management Framework at all times
Ensure accurate recording and validation of transactions in ETRM systems
Maintain detailed comprehension of North American energy markets rules, reports, processes and market dynamics where Boralex operates (currently includes IESO, ERCOT, SPP, NYISO, and CAISO)
Contribute to development of price forecasts and maintain a view of intra-day and next day hourly market prices to optimize Real Time and Day Ahead bidding strategies
Contribute to the development of internal applications and systems as well as trading automation, validations and analytical tools
Assist in any other tasks as required by the trading and commercialization team
