To join our team as an Energy Efficiency Technician! You will act as a local on-site program and company representative to residential customers. You would be educating power utility customers on Energy Waste Reduction. Can you think of a more timely business? Install basic energy-efficient equipment, and inspect customers homes for insulation, air sealing, HVAC equipment and make recommendations for saving energy and money! The Technician will work directly with our Utility Client's diverse, multi-lingual customer base. This is not a sales role! No cold calling required. Customers schedule their own appointments through a support team and scheduled appointments are provided to you. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Comfortable using computers and various software.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must live in or within a reasonable commuting distance from their territory.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment checks.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located without the need for employer sponsorship or support.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Associates Degree w/relevant industry technical certification/training preferred.
  • BPI Certified preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a local on-site program and company representative to residential customers.
  • Educate power utility customers on Energy Waste Reduction.
  • Install basic energy-efficient equipment.
  • Inspect customers homes for insulation, air sealing, HVAC equipment and make recommendations for saving energy and money!
  • Work directly with our Utility Client's diverse, multi-lingual customer base.
  • Be a professional and enjoy customer service!
  • Be organized and maintain equipment and company vehicle (good driving record too).
  • Climb ladders up to 10’ and lift / carry 50 lbs.
  • Conduct installation of basic residential energy efficiency upgrades – training provided.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement in accordance with client specifications – training provided.
  • Provide input and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning, and effectiveness of products.
  • Provide technical expertise to identify, analyze and resolve issues.
  • Show experience or interest and ability to learn about home construction and HVAC equipment to be an effective educator on the topic.
  • Travel throughout a defined territory.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
