About The Position

Diamond Infrastructure Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an Energy Systems Senior Production Engineer in Plaquemine (LA). As the Energy Systems Senior Production Engineer, you serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost, quality products. This role requires broadened conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments. This role is aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions (“Diamond Infra”) company and will be seconded from Dow to Diamond Infrastructure Solutions until January 1, 2027. At that time, the role will become directly aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions Company.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least 3 years industry experience
  • Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual’s own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold. (For example, some types of safety equipment may be rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds total.) In the event a job offer for this position were (conditionally) extended, the individual will be appropriately evaluated in regard to their ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

  • Regulatory and Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with operating permits and maintaining a strong field presence to reinforce safety procedures highlights the need for knowledge of regulatory standards and a commitment to safety

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the operations team leveraging their problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
  • Elevate and appropriately apply knowledge of the plant and technology referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Ensure Most Effective Technology (MET) is understood and utilized and that process automation is used as a tool to optimize plant performance.
  • Utilize defined MET and challenges/escalates MET application and assumptions when better solutions arise.
  • Partner with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline.
  • Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.
  • Understand why specific procedure steps and precautions are needed and keeps a strong field presence to reinforce the importance.
  • Conduct daily review of logbook and alarm history to better understand the plant operation and stay engaged with daily activities.
  • Maintain, own, and review daily Key Process Indicators (KPI)/ trends to ensure optimum performance.
  • Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies.
  • Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drives implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Provide leadership, expertise, diagnosis, and optimization in plant Raw Material Efficiency, which may include yield or waste generation.
  • Ensure compliance with plant operating permits.
  • Understand site integration and provide input to optimize the overall system.
