About The Position

The Electrical Manager provides leadership and technical oversight for electrical governance, quality, workforce qualification and training, field support, warranty and reliability, and cross-project electrical communications. This role partners with project teams, subject-matter experts, and electrical craft personnel to promote safe, compliant, reliable, and consistent electrical execution across the project portfolio. The employee will travel regularly to Energy Storage project sites to conduct reviews, audits, pre-energization walks, troubleshooting, training, and energization support. We are seeking an experienced Electrician with construction experience. This role is either 100% travel/project based or 50% remote/50% travel to project sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent equivalent experience
  • Electrician's license
  • Minimum eight years of electrical construction management experience
  • Minimum one year of experience with project completion from mobilization to turnover
  • Proficiency in medium and high voltage technical knowledge
  • Specialized knowledge/experience in electrical control, substations, t-line, etc.
  • Current driver's license
  • Knowledge of NEC code and NE safety code
  • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks
  • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Project, and web applications
  • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication
  • Ability to travel up to 100%

Responsibilities

  • Review lockout/tagout (LOTO) plans for alignment with project requirements and applicable procedures.
  • Review energization plans, methods of procedure (MOPs), and safe work outlines (SWOs).
  • Review and approve electrical procedures within the role’s authority.
  • Support owner presentations and technical discussions related to electrical planning, safety, quality, and execution.
  • Plan and conduct electrical installation audits at project sites.
  • Attend factory acceptance testing (FAT), as required, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead or participate in pre-energization walks to identify readiness gaps and required corrective actions.
  • Analyze quality trends and recommend actions that improve installation consistency and reliability.
  • Maintain qualification tracking for employees performing electrical work.
  • Support task-based competency assessment and verification.
  • Deliver and reinforce training on current LOTO, zero-energy verification or zero-energy procedure (ZEP), and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Develop and share focused micro-training and lessons learned based on field observations and project experience.
  • Travel to Energy Storage project sites and other assigned locations to provide hands-on electrical leadership and support.
  • Conduct site visits to assess execution, readiness, compliance, and emerging risks.
  • Lead or support troubleshooting of electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and operational issues.
  • Provide energization planning and field support to help teams execute safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate subject-matter expert escalation when issues require additional technical expertise.
  • Triage electrical warranty issues and establish appropriate response priorities.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis for recurring or significant electrical issues.
  • Drive corrective actions through verification and closure.
  • Translate warranty and reliability findings into feedback that strengthens standards, procedures, designs, and field practices.
  • Develop and distribute timely safety and quality alerts.
  • Share lessons learned across projects to reduce repeat issues and improve consistency.
  • Identify systemic issues and coordinate appropriate organizational responses.
  • Promote clear, consistent one-team communication among project, quality, safety, engineering, commissioning, and operations stakeholders.
