About The Position

Support, train, and assist with weatherization, HVAC and home services contractors, distributors, manufacturer representatives, retailers, and other market actors collectively known as trade allies. We train them to propose, sell, and complete energy efficiency products and services for utility residential customers and programs. You may also work directly with utility customers to support energy-efficiency projects with a focus on customer service and satisfaction. Relationships with and the motivation of trade allies, utilities, customers, and program partners are key elements of the position, which requires local and regional travel throughout Southern Idaho. Candidates for this role must be located in the Southern Idaho territory.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills and can build and sustain relationships with customers.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Have exceptional problem-solving skills and are dedicated to ensuring projects meet the requirements established.
  • Are skilled at handling multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution.
  • Demonstrate expertise and experience in residential construction, utility, sales, or energy-efficiency, ideally surrounding home weatherization or HVAC.
  • Must be receptive to feedback and willing to learn and embrace continuous improvement.
  • High School diploma with higher education or vocational degree, certification and training specializing in sales, marketing, lighting, HVAC, construction management, energy efficiency, and/or the utility industries.
  • A college degree is not required, but candidates must demonstrate continued education in alignment with their career goals.
  • This work is largely self-driven and requires creativity and the ability to be nimble, including handling changes in workload and schedule, setting priorities, and responding quickly to short-notice requests.
  • Organizational and presentation skills are necessary.
  • Must take ownership of the work, do what is needed without being asked and follow through. This requires planning, managing time well and being available and accessible to provide solutions.
  • We are a fully remote telecommuting organization; therefore, you must have dependable transportation along with verifiable insurance.

  • Must be available for occasional evening, early morning and weekend meetings and events.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Recruit new trade allies to participate in the energy efficiency programs.
  • Work with and build trusting relationships in diverse communities with a focus on rural and underserved customer support.
  • Work with local utility representatives to understand their customers, programs, and needs.
  • Provide technical assistance to weatherization, HVAC, retail and other trade allies, customers, utility representatives, and stakeholders.
  • Provide cross-training for weatherization and HVAC trade allies to promote energy efficiency projects.
  • Provide cross-promotion and coordination for trade allies that serve both residential and commercial customers.
  • Support sales efforts with trade allies and their customers to sell energy efficiency projects.
  • Conduct on-site training with trade ally and/or utility representatives for energy and energy efficiency initiatives, programs, and tools.
  • Collaborate with contractors, distributors, and other market actors to understand and promote energy efficiency incentive programs.
  • Participate and present in company and industry training, communications, and program planning efforts to drive successful results to meet client needs.
  • Define and develop program, marketing and communication plans for utilities and top trade allies that support the local utility incentive programs.
  • Build relationships with Community Action Agencies to support low-income weatherization efforts.
  • Provide project management support for contractors and property managers for multifamily energy efficiency projects.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed project tracking records to document relationship management, sales efforts, and training and energy efficiency activities.
