About The Position

The main responsibilities for the Sales Specialist, Alternative Energy Markets is to develop and grow the MilliporeSigma Global DxRM Nuclear Market business within named accounts as well as prospecting others. A key aspect of this role will be to seek out new business opportunities within the nuclear markets for growth. The position will work closely with MilliporeSigma support teams to setup and onboard these customers and ensure to marketing and franchise that the segments needs are being met. A strong customer focus is critical to ensure that the customer’s needs are both understood and managed in a proactive and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have scientific knowledge of nuclear science, procedures, testing methods, and equipment coupled with the ability to listen, identify customer needs, and provide product solutions. Candidate must possess effective sales techniques, business acumen, and presentation skills to successfully close sales of MilliporeSigma products through multiple sales channels. Location This is a field-based which requires frequent travel to customer sites, including international travel of up to 50% annually.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Science Technology (Chemistry, Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a sales role
  • At least 1 year of sales experience within the Nuclear Energy industry
  • Able to travel internationally
  • Fluent in English, written and oral communication
  • Advanced knowledge of scientific procedures, testing methods, and equipment coupled with the ability to diagnose customer needs and provide product solutions
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Business acumen to negotiate long term supply agreements
  • Highly goal oriented and self-motivated, capable of working with minimum direction
  • Self-starter, proactive individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to be autonomous and to work in a multicultural environment

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales growth within defined nuclear market.
  • Identify New Project Opportunities and record in SFDC
  • Develop Account Plans to understand potential and business case for sales growth
  • Uncover and share volumes and forecasts for key materials within Nuclear market
  • Grow the business by presenting MilliporeSigma products and services, including new product offerings.
  • Use digital tools to uncover new leads and market gaps.
  • Understand the customer’s applications and commercial needs to advance new opportunities
  • Coordinate with sales channels (distributors) to ensure all opportunities are realized
  • Monitor and understand competitor’s market and product positions
  • Participate in trade shows and present product and technical information at seminars
