About The Position

At LCRA, we are seeking to find a driven and detail-oriented individual for our Energy Services Mechanic position at the Fayette Power Project. As a part of our maintenance team, you will perform mechanical maintenance in an energy services environment including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment, mechanical and/or machine shop repair, welding, and remanufacturing of parts and equipment. This position highlights the significance of expertise and hands-on experience in the field, offering continuous opportunities for skill development. Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or repair of mechanical equipment or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in mechanical or industrial maintenance, instrumentation, controls or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

  • Experience in an energy services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, inspect, repair, test, adjust, and align mechanical equipment, including air compressors, heat exchangers, gear reducers, valves, pumps, and fans. Dismantle and reassemble turbine generators, coal handling systems, and/or rail cars as required for assigned work area.
  • Assist electrical and controls personnel in performing various tasks. Perform bearing work (friction and anti-friction) on various equipment, i.e. turbine-generator; large boiler air fans, pumps, etc.
  • Perform welding on various types of piping and/or structures as required and certified to conduct. Make repairs to fiberglass piping. Perform fabrication tasks such as cutting, welding, and fitting. Perform sandblasting and painting operations. Perform excavations in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Perform confined space entries as required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, consult manuals, parts lists, etc., to assist in performing work; keep drawings and schematics up to date and accurate.
  • Operate handheld manual tools and power tools (i.e. rock saws and cut-off saws) in performing repair and maintenance tasks.
