About The Position

At LCRA, we are seeking to find a driven and detail-oriented individual for our Energy Services Electrician position at the Fayette Power Project. As a part of our maintenance team, you will perform electrical maintenance in an energy services environment including troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment, maintaining critical infrastructure, and managing low/medium/high voltage equipment. Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an energy service environment.
  • Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or repair of electrical equipment or other relevant experience.
  • Experience in conduit schedule for conduit and cable installation.
  • Experience in the assembly and installation of high voltage electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuit theory.
  • Knowledge of DC battery banks.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code or National Electrical Safety Code.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, remove, inspect, test, and repair electric motors, generators, electrical circuit breakers, condensers, transformers, switches, communication systems, and electrical and electronic control equipment and wiring.
  • Locate and repair failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment. Install test apparatus on all electrical equipment. Analyze and implement solutions to electrical and electronic control system problems.
  • Perform maintenance, repair and operational/diagnostic tests as required on all power apparatus in power plants. Record test results. Develop and prepare summary of test results in reports.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and general upkeep of electrical and electronic equipment and test gear.
  • Read/interpret blueprints and drawings, consult manuals, parts lists, etc., to assist in performing work. Keep drawings and schematics up to date and accurate.
