About The Position

We are seeking a driven and detail-orientated individual for our Energy Services Mechanic position! This is an opportunity to join the dam and hydro mechanical maintenance team in Austin Texas. Responsibilities include the upkeep, inspection and repair on all mechanical maintenance equipment in several hydro facilities. You will be trusted to: - Install, remove, inspect, repair, test, adjust, and align mechanical equipment, including air compressors, heat exchangers, gear reducers, valves, pumps, and fans. Dismantle and reassemble turbine generators as required for assigned work area. - Read blueprints, consults manuals, parts lists, etc, to assist in performing work; keep drawings and schematics up to date and accurate. - Assist electrical and controls personnel in performing various tasks. Perform bearing work, friction and anti-friction, on various equipment (turbine-generator; pumps, etc.). - Perform planning and scheduling of work (checking parts availability, equipment availability, and labor). May provide guidance to maintenance crews periodically. - Operate handheld manual tools and power tools (e.g., rock saws and cut-off saws) in performing repair and maintenance tasks. - Provide day-to-day guidance and direction to less-experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or repair of mechanical equipment or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in mechanical or industrial maintenance, instrumentation, controls or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license required for incumbents assigned to the dam & hydro function.
