About The Position

At LCRA, we are looking for an Energy Services Electrician to join our team! We're looking for a self-motivated and energetic person to perform electrical work in high/low voltage environments including maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, adjusting, installation and /or removal of electrical distribution equipment. Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, remove, inspect, test, and repair electric motors, generators, electrical circuit breakers, transformers, switches, communication systems, and electrical and electronic control equipment and wiring.
  • Locate and repair failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment; install test apparatus on all electrical equipment. Implement solutions to electrical and electronic control system problems.
  • Perform maintenance, repair and operational / diagnostic tests as required on all power apparatus in power plants, or other installations. Record test results. Develop and prepare summary of test results in reports.
  • Read/interpret blueprints and drawings, consults manuals, parts lists, etc., to assist in performing work. Keep drawings and schematics up to date and accurate.
  • Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, etc.) as scheduled.
