About The Position

Under the direction of the Energy Service Manager, the energy service technician accomplishes the training required to gain the knowledge and skills to perform all services safely and to provide excellent customer service. The Energy Service Technician will also serve as part-time delivery for refined fuels, propane, and lubricants in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or equivalent certification in energy systems or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of propane, fuel, and energy systems is an advantage.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teammates at all levels.
  • Ability to identify and address issues in a proactive manner.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and teammates.

  • Obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with required endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker) within six months of employment and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain, within six months, and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the energy industry.
  • Must reside within the geography assigned when an employment opportunity is presented.
  • Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.
  • Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
  • The role may require occasional travel to other company locations or industry events, with the ability to travel independently and stay overnight as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training, including education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training related to the position’s requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performs service related to propane and refined fuel installations. All propane systems should follow the Propane Policy Manual.
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Documents all work performed on all equipment. Obtains customer signatures on all work orders and receipts for pickup or delivery when required.
  • Drives truck to deliver Propane & Refined fuel to customers’ homes or places of business.
  • Replaces outdated propane regulators at customers’ homes or places of business.
  • Collects accounts from customers and records transactions on customer sales.
  • Every employee in the Energy Department is in Sales. Each employee should be willing to make calls to prospective customers to solicit new business and be able to speak to customers regarding contracts, fill-ups, and other marketing programs.
  • Handles complaints promptly.
  • Completes regular activity reports.
  • Maintains company equipment according to company standards and performs routine maintenance on the equipment.
  • Adheres to the uniform policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.
  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures as they apply.
