About The Position

Tacoma Power is looking to hire an Energy Research and Development Intern to join our Power Management team. This position assists with Power Management work projects through research, analysis, and writing assignments. In this role you will gain valuable work experience in a customer owned power utility and benefit from an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical environment. This intern position will be tasked with assisting with various Energy Research & Development projects and to help create online tracking and reporting tools. These projects will provide ample opportunities for exposure to modern day issues facing public power utilities. This position will be expected to pursue self-directed research, conduct and summarize quantitative analysis, work as part of a cross-functional and diverse team, present analytic results in verbal and written communications. The expected duration of the internship is up to 12 months, 40 hours of work per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of post-high school training

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience working with science technology and research analysis
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License

Benefits
