Amazon is seeking a results-oriented individual for the AWS AMER East Energy Team. This role will support AWS's infrastructure expansion by leading energy projects with electric utilities and energy companies in the AMER East region. The position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to grow AWS’s diverse, reliable, and low-cost energy supply. The candidate must be capable of managing the execution of multiple large-scale power infrastructure projects across different geographies in AMER East. Responsibilities include managing utility interactions, working with internal and external engineering, real estate, and planning teams to deliver electric infrastructure for AWS data centers, and managing utility, EPC vendor, and/or Owners Engineer to meet AWS’ needs. The role involves working as part of an integrated team to implement energy program requirements and achieve tangible reliability and cost-saving results. The ideal candidate will have a strong energy background and a proven history of developing and delivering innovative energy projects. Experience working with regulated electric utilities to develop, contract, and deliver medium and high voltage power infrastructure, along with related tariffs and agreements, is essential. The candidate should demonstrate an ability to think strategically about business, operations, and technical challenges, coupled with the skill set to drive tactical execution of project schedules, contracts, initiatives, and team goals. By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and managing day-to-day interactions with partners, the candidate will ensure energy requirements for AWS’s global infrastructure expansion are met. This role requires some domestic travel (less than 30%).
