Summer 2027 - Energy Operations Intern
About The Position
Southern States is seeking college students interested in energy operations, business management, and customer service for its Summer Internship Program. The internship provides exposure to energy operations, logistics, customer service, safety practices, cooperative business management, distribution, and inventory processes while interns work alongside experienced team members. Interns receive mentorship and networking opportunities with Southern States professionals and business leaders, develop leadership skills, and complete a summer project with a final presentation. The program lasts 10 weeks and is full-time at 40 hours per week, paying $18.00 per hour. Interns are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in Business, Agribusiness, Energy Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related program.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Interest in operations and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
Nice To Haves
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support daily energy operations activities.
- Assist with inventory and logistics planning.
- Observe customer service and account management processes.
- Participate in safety meetings and training.
- Analyze operational processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Complete a meaningful summer project and presentation.
- Shadow energy operations team members and gain field exposure where applicable.
