About The Position

Loenbro, LLC is seeking an experienced Energy Marshall to support mission-critical data center electrical commissioning in Phoenix, AZ. The Energy Marshall will be the project-level responsible person for energized and de-energized work authorizations during Level 3–5 commissioning, manage energy-related procedures and lockout/tagout approvals, and act as the primary switch/energy point of contact for clients, engineers, general contractors, and vendors.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of electrical field experience on mission-critical projects, with demonstrated responsibility for energized work authorizations and lockout/tagout procedures; data center commissioning experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, switchgear operation, transfer schemes, AutoLoto procedures, and industry-standard MOP development.
  • Relevant electrical safety certifications required such as NFPA 70E, OSHA, or equivalent; switchgear or substations credentials preferred.
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience interfacing with clients, engineers, GCs, and vendors on energy coordination and approval processes.
  • Uncompromising safety mindset with skill enforcing energized work controls and procedural compliance.
  • Strong procedural writing and documentation skills for MOPs, permits, and audit-ready records.
  • Ability to make timely, safety-first decisions under pressure during energization activities.
  • Effective coordination with Commissioning teams, Field Operations, Safety, QA/QC, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient at managing concurrent energy requests, AutoLoto queues, and change control.
  • Practical troubleshooting during First Time Energization and system integration testing.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the project-level responsible person for all energized and de-energized work authorizations and permits during commissioning phases Level 3–5.
  • Develop, submit, and obtain approval for Methods of Procedure (MOPs) required for Level 3–5 activities in accordance with specifications and contract documents.
  • Review and approve AutoLoto requests for all project electrical systems throughout Level 3–5 commissioning phases.
  • Act as the primary switch and energy interface with clients, engineers, general contractors, and vendors for all energy-related activities and coordination.
  • Assist the project commissioning team during First Time Energization, pre-functional and functional testing, energization sequences, and integrated systems testing.
  • Attend and contribute to regular progress meetings and commissioning updates to ensure safe, coordinated energy activities.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols for energized and de-energized work; coordinate with Safety, QA/QC, and Field Operations to identify and mitigate commissioning risks.
  • Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and incorporate feedback into updated commissioning and energy management standards and procedures.
  • Maintain clear, auditable records of all MOPs, permits, AutoLoto approvals, logs, and energy-related correspondence for turnover and contract compliance.
