The Energy Marshal is a safety professional responsible for ensuring the safe execution of energization and isolation activities, with a strong focus on energy isolation procedures, auditing practices, and providing expert guidance on energy isolation standards. This role requires a robust safety background and technical expertise in energy isolation, particularly within a data center environment. The Energy Marshal will manage the commissioning process during construction from pre-energization through project completion and turnover, including managing electrical room access permits and attendance, ensuring compliance with safe work practices, verifying commission plans, reviewing quality reports, and completing pre-energization inspections. The role also involves managing the LOTO program on site, auditing energy isolation procedures, acting as a subject matter expert, attending High Risk Activity (HRA) / Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) meetings, and partnering with project teams for continuous improvement. The Energy Marshal will communicate complex technical solutions, audit site practices, interpret line drawings, and provide expert guidance on energy isolation in environments with multiple energy sources, especially electrical systems. This role serves as an independent authority for stopping unsafe work practices related to Energy Isolation.
