Energy Markets Strategy Associate

CWP EnergyMontreal, QC

About The Position

CWP Energy is a Montreal-based energy trading firm specializing in renewable energy and physical power markets. Since 2012, we’ve grown by staying entrepreneurial, hands-on, and relentlessly focused on execution. We believe in learning fast, taking ownership, and solving real problems in complex markets. We are entering a new phase of growth, with an expanding footprint across markets and an increasing number of strategic opportunities to evaluate. To support this, we are looking for someone who can operate across disciplines — combining analytical rigor, business judgment, and curiosity — to help us better understand where to play and how to win. This is not a narrowly defined role. It is designed for someone who wants to get as close as possible to how an energy trading business actually works — from market dynamics to strategy to execution. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, market analysis, and business operations. You won’t have a strictly defined scope of responsibilities. You will be expected to work on complex, sometimes ambiguous problems, bringing structure, clarity, and direction. You will collaborate closely with teams across the organization, as well as with senior leadership, gaining direct exposure to how decisions are made and how value is created in energy trading. Over time, you will develop a deep understanding of power markets, trading strategies, and the key drivers of performance — while contributing directly to important business decisions.
