This role is for an Energy Managing Director within our Financial Advisory Services. Managing directors in consulting are primarily responsible for providing direction and guidance to teams of employees and ensuring that projects are accomplished in a timely manner. They develop and execute the company’s business strategies, provide strategic advice to clients, and prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate execution. They ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated and followed, maintain trust relationships with stakeholders, delegate responsibilities, and supervise the work of executives. Additionally, they act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in Big 4/public accounting and/or oil and gas industry (upstream preferred)
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with senior leadership, executives, and key decision-makers.
  • Proven success in identifying client needs and delivering tailored solutions that drive value.
  • Strong business development skills with a track record of driving growth in a professional services environment.
  • Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for our accounting advisory practice.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to independently lead effectively across different teams ensuring collaborative, cross-functional efforts.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage and resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Experience handling both internal team issues and external client service challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong sense of urgency, proactive initiative, and capability to manage multiple client engagements effectively without compromising service quality

  • SEC filing exposure/experience
  • Operational accounting experience
  • Experience in oil and gas ERPs (Enertia, OGSYS, Pak Energy, Quorum, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing the company’s business strategies
  • Providing strategic advice to our clients
  • Preparing and implementing comprehensive business plans to facilitate execution
  • Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners, and authorities
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
  • Provide performance feedback to teams
  • Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile
  • Lead and develop teams of consultants
