Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Environmental, Architectural, or a related discipline. Must be ABET accredited or equivalent).
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in engineering, building systems, energy efficiency, or a closely related field aligned with the specified degree disciplines.
Foundational understanding of commercial and industrial building systems, including HVAC, hydronic, and electrical systems.
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in energy efficiency, building performance analysis, or sustainable design.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw insights from data and translate them into actionable recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data collection and reporting.
Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks and projects.
A collaborative and personable approach with the ability to work well in both independent and team environments.
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
Experience with customer service and outreach, with the ability to engage professionally and effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
As this position requires travel to client sites, the candidate must be able to reliably commute to and from assigned client locations.

Nice To Haves

Advanced understanding of building systems, energy technologies, and their applications within commercial and industrial settings.
Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), LEED accreditation, or other relevant industry credentials.
Experience with Texas utility incentive programs and energy rebate application processes.
Familiarity with energy modeling tools, auditing software, or building automation systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system schematics.
Prior experience supporting or leading energy audits or decarbonization initiatives.
Working knowledge of applicable energy codes, standards, or sustainability guidelines (e.g., ASHRAE, Title 24, ENERGY STAR).
Familiarity with project management software such as Asana or Deltek Vantagepoint.

Responsibilities

Performing energy savings analyses and gathering on-site data from end-use customer facilities, including coordinating and installing data-logging equipment.
Site acquisition and customer outreach.
Evaluate and analyze the performance of building systems (HVAC, hydronic, and electrical) in commercial and industrial environments.
Conduct accurate on-site energy analyses to gather the necessary details for developing energy-saving recommendations and supporting rebate or incentive applications for end-use customers.
Install sub-metering devices on HVAC and process equipment and interpret the data to develop energy models.
Conduct outreach to new and existing clients to find project opportunities.
Manage time effectively across fieldwork and office-based tasks to ensure project milestones are met.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and design professionals to understand building characteristics and identify opportunities for energy optimization.
Translate findings into actionable recommendations through clear, well-organized reports and presentations.
Provide regular project updates and status reports to the program lead.
Travel to customer sites.
Perform other activities as requested related to energy conservation, reporting, and project support as needed.
