This role supports the development and delivery of energy efficiency programs by providing engineering calculations and utility program technical design and assistance. The Energy Engineer I leads design and development of technical strategies, conducts analysis to inform and recommend energy savings, and develops plans and provides reporting that contributes to the success of client programs. They will write and inform technical documents, publications, and conduct quality review of content. This role also provides general project oversight, quality control/assurance, and continuously informs customers and project team of updates and necessary adjustments. Candidates must be based in El Paso Texas to be considered.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering or higher
- 0-3+ years of experience
- Excellent technical and non-technical writing and communication abilities.
- Must be based in El Paso Texas to be considered.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located without the need for employer sponsorship or support.

- Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
- Interest and ambition to work in the fast-paced energy efficiency industry.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of energy efficiency programs by providing engineering calculations and utility program technical design and assistance.
- Lead design and development of technical strategies.
- Conduct analysis to inform and recommend energy savings.
- Develop plans and provide reporting that contributes to the success of client programs.
- Write and inform technical documents and publications.
- Conduct quality review of content.
- Provide general project oversight and quality control/assurance.
- Continuously inform customers and project team of updates and necessary adjustments.
- Calculate energy savings for projects in our programs using standard engineering principles including physics, mechanics, electrical, thermodynamics, mathematics, and statistics.
- Prioritize safety in all actions and tasks.
- Participate in energy audits to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Support development of measures characteristics for program planning and BD efforts, with technical oversight.
- Understand building energy end uses and energy impacts of industrial processes.
- Support analysis of energy efficiency projects using various tools and software.
- Become familiar with the energy efficiency industry, industry trends, regulations and best practices related to energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Propose solutions of issues to supervisor.
- Anticipate issues, develop solutions, and lead resolutions to internal stakeholders.
