Location: Foster City, CA We have set the goal to provide our customers with the highest level of safety while using our fully autonomous vehicles. To help fulfill that goal, the Energy and Aerodynamics attributes group works to ensure our vehicles operate energy efficiently, understanding where each kilowatt-hour of energy goes and developing features to reduce energy consumption. A key part of that process is data engineering and analysis - using real data from the fleet to understand and measure the impact of our work on fleet-wide energy consumption. In this role you’ll be the lead data engineer and analyst for all energy metrics, building both the data foundation as well as business reporting layers.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years in a data engineer and/or data analyst role
  • Expertise with Python and Scala
  • Expertise with Databricks
  • Experience designing and building complex data modeling at scale
  • Advanced Structure Query Language (SQL) and data warehousing experience
  • Experience operating a workflow manager such as Airflow
  • Ability to not only engineer data systems, but also develop business and engineering facing dashboards, KPIs, and metrics

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust data tables, metrics, and dashboards for energy related metrics of the vehicle fleet.
  • Mature and harden existing Databricks tables and scripts to allow the team to scale as our fleet grows
  • Work closely with Energy engineers to develop the right metrics for our business, including KPIs and reporting dashboards.
  • Maintain data pipelines and automate query jobs to support scaling.
