About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Energy Controls Mechanic to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Energy Controls Mechanic implements ways to fully utilize and improve existing systems to ensure the most efficient energy utilization. Additionally, the Energy Controls Mechanic completes work requests for preventative and predictive maintenance, inspections, testing, repairs, and installation of equipment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Valid license from Miami Dade County
Valid State of Florida Driver’s License required
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots systems and makes sure necessary changes are made in programming and calibration to ensure proper operation of controls and instrumentation.
Diagnoses problems or failures in conditioning and refrigeration systems and identifies repair needs.
Reads and reviews blueprints and schematics.
Sets time schedules, and heating and cooling settings for pump operations of energy management systems.
Maintains organized documentation to support activities and expenditure requests.
Ensures that activities adhere to pertinent codes, policies, regulations, and laws.
Transports tolls, equipment, supplies, and other relevant items to ensure availability of resources at job site.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
