About The Position

An Energy Consultant (EC) conducts sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions. The EC is responsible for establishing contact with existing customers, developing new opportunities, following up on potential leads and closing sales. The EC will monitor industry trends, in order to identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue. The primary function is to sell solutions-oriented products and services to increase revenue by establishing business relationships with new and existing customers in a specific geographic area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years outside sales experience
  • Ability to leverage mobile devices and technology including but not limited to: Microsoft Office
  • Focus on customer satisfaction
  • Goal driven
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Effective time management

Nice To Haves

  • Gas industry experience preferred but not required
  • knowledge of CRM/Salesforce and E-Signature/ DocuSign a plus
  • Industry knowledge is preferred but not required
  • Retain a Level III knowledge of HVAC systems and competing fuel sources

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inbound/outbound calls and utilize a proactive and consultative sales approach with every customer interaction to uncover sales and service opportunities
  • Prepare and present sales proposals to current and prospective customers
  • Actively participate in industry organizations to continually build a professional network
  • Champion a positive, professional image to create customer goodwill and foster referrals and repeat business
  • Establish and leverage relationships with businesses and industry entities such as real estate companies, home builder associations, BNI and other trade organizations to cultivate new business prospects
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of available TGO and CPS products and services, equipment and policies and procedures
  • Develop new sales leads by prospecting and pursuing targeted accounts via cold calling and other related activities
  • Presenting, promoting and selling products/services to existing and prospective customers
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts to ensure continual customer satisfaction
  • Participate in trade/consumer shows to cultivate new leads and make productive contact with existing customers
  • Meet or exceed sales quota/goals set forth based on annual and quarterly KPI’s
  • Enter and manage customer data in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), E-Signature and Operations software programs
  • Follow up with new accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and fulfillment of the job
  • Perform other duties as assigned
