The Role Energy Architectural Engineer is responsible for performing analysis to predict and optimize electrified range, fuel economy, 0-60 performance, top speed, and drive quality for advanced vehicle program development. Involves close coordination with global execution teams for closed loop learning for integrated solutions to meet vehicle requirements. Includes problem solving with support of the Integration leaders to achieve balanced solutions. Has the ability to work with limited direction, independently, and make decisions based on general practices and procedures. This position requires creativity and initiative to independently lead cross functional teams for issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent related work experience required.
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and/or desire to learn current and advanced technologies (vehicle/propulsion) for fuel economy, electric range and drive quality
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult
  • Written and verbal presentation skills in order to present complex concepts to peers and program teams clearly with recommendation.
  • Ability to work independently to solve highly complex problems
  • Matlab/Simulink experience required, VERDE model experience preferred.
  • Energy adjacent experience recommended and direct energy roles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize fuel economy / range, drive quality, and vehicle performance to vehicle technical and customer requirements
  • Complete analysis as required for program development, improvements in predictive capability, and hardware close loop learning with model correlation
  • Support technical peer reviews for vehicle and subsystem requirements
  • Proficient / familiar with global vehicle development process with project management skills
  • Share lessons learned with peers, energy pit, and manager with application to future programs
  • Takes advantage of all learning opportunities including competitive benchmarking
  • Proactively communicates effectively with all stakeholders.
